Simplifying the Pokeit Interface

Imagine a university quad. The grass is a beautiful emerald green but, in a few places, it’s been beaten down to the dirt in straight smooth lines. These dirt paths, not the brick walkways, are the fastest way to get from point A to point B.

Similarly, at Pokeit, we have been using your feedback to cut direct paths to the most important parts of the app. Here are some of the changes we’ve made for this new version 3.4.1 release:

  • The settings panel now opens directly to the presentation section while viewing a loaded visualization. Here you can add, remove and rearrange your fields and change the grouping of your visualization. The filters section is now one click away as are all the advanced options available to you before;
  • We have also simplified the filters section, making it easier to find new filters to add to your visualizations. Just start typing and matching options will appear on the screen. There’s now a dedicated section called the Filter Workspace, which is shared across all open visualizations so you don’t have to add the same filter twice;
  • You can now “favorite” visualizations either from the dashboard or from the save dialog. Favorited visualizations appear at the top of the dashboard giving you easy access to the views you use most; and
  • We’ve improved Hand Browser load times dramatically so you don’t have to wait as long to see your most recent hands

Check out our changelog to find out more about these changes. For our next update, we’ll be adding the Winning Poker Network to Pokeit’s comprehensive list of supported sites.

Thanks,
The Pokeit Team

Filter like you’ve never filtered before

All these filters right at your fingertips

We closed a chapter last Friday when we officially shut down old Pokeit. For those of you that have upgraded to new Pokeit, we’re excited to have all of you along for the ride.

If you missed the deadline, you can still upgrade to the new Pokeit now. It won’t have your hand histories from before, but sometimes it’s best to start things off with a clean slate.

We’ve recently made several updates to the site to improve your experience:

  • A new filters popup: The filters popup has been revamped to make it easier to toggle and adjust conditions. The popup includes direct links to all the active conditions, shortcuts for adding new conditions and filters, and a reset button for clearing everything out at once
  • Selective import: You can now select games for Pokeit to ignore from the account page. This is useful if you’re only interested in tracking particular games in Pokeit and want to significantly speed up your database
  • Simplified saving: Anytime you save a visualization, those changes will propagate to your other visualizations when applicable. For example, if you set a filter in Hand Browser, save, and then open the Hands Graph, those changes will be in there too
  • A new client program: Last week we fixed a bug which prevented hands from importing while you play. If you haven’t already done so, please restart the Pokeit application installed on your computer and it will update automatically

You can check out all of our recent changes on our changelog.

Thanks,
The Pokeit Team

Time to upgrade to the new Pokeit

On June 1st, the legacy version of Pokeit will be retired. Be sure to pick a new Pokeit plan if you haven’t already to ensure continued access to your data.

Everything you were able to do in the old version can be done in the new. On top of that, we’ve added tons of new features, graph types and statistics to help you get the most out of your poker data.

If after a month of using the new Pokeit you decide it isn’t for you, we’ll be happy to give you your money back. There’s no risk to upgrading.

Here’s what we’ve been up to in the three weeks since we last touched base:

We’ve also been busy building help documentation and addressing several outstanding bugs. Be sure to check out all of these changes in the change log. If you have any questions about this or anything else, don’t hesitate to email us at support@pokeit.co.

How to gain an edge with Pokeit: A YouTube series

A month has passed since we launched the new version of Pokeit! If you haven’t upgraded yet, you’re missing out on a completely new way to visualize and understand your poker game. We’ve improved upon the old version in every way with hundreds of stats, dozens of graph types and a fully customizable interface for getting the answers you need from your poker data.

To help you master the new Pokeit, we’ve launched a YouTube channel with how-to guides on the most important features and capabilities. So far we’ve made eight videos, with many more planned in the coming weeks:

Watch Pokeit on YouTube!

Subscribe to Pokeit on YouTube so you don’t miss out on future videos in this series.

We’ve also been busy fixing bugs and improving performance. Pokeit’s now on version 3.2 and you can check out all the changes here.

Also, as a reminder, you’ll need to upgrade to the new version by May 31st in order to keep using Pokeit.

Now optimized for iOS, Android, & Windows devices

Since launching the new version of Pokeit earlier this month, we’ve been hard at work responding to all of your requests and ideas for improvements. Today we released an update which adds the following new capabilities:

  • Pokeit’s now fully functional on phones and tablets. Elements fit the screen in either portrait or landscape orientation and dragging and dropping via gestures has been enabled
  • Labels showing totals have been added to cumulative line graphs
  • Labels have been added to bets in Replayer and a running count of the current pot size is now displayed in the top right of the screen

We’ve also fixed numerous bugs over the past two weeks. You can find a full list of features and updates on our new change log page.
